Outpatient Children's Clinic (Age 5 - 19)
Located at 100 East Avenue, Norwalk, our Outpatient Children's Clinic offers individual, family, and group therapies, as well as parent guidance.  Our experienced team of board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrists, psychologists, and clinical social workers utilize evidence-based practices to treat a wide variety of emotional and behavioral disorders, including depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorders, OCD, and ADHD.

Evidence Based Practices. Our clinicians utilize evidence-based practices (EBP) including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Click here to learn more about DBT.

We are an Enhanced Care Clinic.  As one of Connecticut's Enhanced Care Clinics, we screen and assess cases based on severity: Emergency cases within two hours; Urgent cases within two days, and; Routine cases within two weeks.  Extended coverage outside of normal business hours for active cases is also available.

Latino Behavioral Health Program.  All Outpatient services are offered in Spanish by a team of bilingual, bi-cultural clinicians and a Spanish-speaking child and adolescent psychiatrist.  In addition to their clinical training, these staff members are adept at addressing cultural issues, which along with behavioral challenges, affect the functioning of the child and family.

Medications. Our team of Psychiatrists and APRNs perform evaluations to determine if medication should complement a child's psychotherapy.  In such cases, medication is prescribed and the child will be scheduled for periodic medication management sessions to monitor the efficacy of the prescribed medication.

Fees and Insurance. Our fee schedule is based on a family's income level. However, no child is ever denied services if a family is unable to pay.  We accept HUSKY (Medicaid) and several commercial insurance providers.

Appointments. Parents and caregivers can make an appointment by calling the Child Guidance Center.  We also accept referrals from all state agencies, local school systems, medical practices, and other social service agencies.
